Friday Morning Commute: Metro Delays and Major Roadwork Impacts

Metrorail: Red Line Single-Tracking and Station Closures

Commuters on the Red Line will face delays today due to necessary infrastructure maintenance. Metro has implemented single-tracking between the DuPont Circle and Van Ness-UDC stations for grout pad rehabilitation. While no stations are closed on this segment, trains are operating from a single platform, resulting in longer headways. Expect trains to run every 9 minutes between Glenmont and Farragut North, and every 18 minutes between Shady Grove and Farragut North.

In Northern Virginia, the Crystal City station remains closed as part of the second entrance construction project.
