Department of Public Works: Collection Suspension
The Department of Public Works (DPW) has officially suspended all household trash, recycling, and food waste collection for today, Thursday, January 29. Furthermore, the existing Snow Emergency has been extended through Friday, January 30, at 9:30 a.m. Motorists are strictly prohibited from parking on designated snow emergency routes. DC Health reminds residents that the Open Enrollment period for 2026 health insurance plans concludes this Saturday, January 31. District residents must complete their enrollment or plan changes via the DC Health Link portal by this date to ensure coverage for the remainder of the year.
